In apparent response to media inquiries, PlanetOut Inc., the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, and the Human Rights Campaign acted swiftly April 22 and 23 to dissociate themselves from the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego. PlanetOut, GLAAD and Global Hyatt Corp. have partnered to offer a Pride 2008 “GLAAD Package” rate at 26 hotels nationally and to stage “Pride Rocks” parties at three hotels, in San Diego, San Francisco and Boston.
In March, Manchester told the San Diego Union-Tribune that his Roman Catholic faith drove him to donate to the anti-same-sex-marriage movement. “When they say that we cannot say that a marriage is between a man and a woman, that’s where I draw the line,” Manchester said.
The Human Rights Campaign took action against Global Hyatt on April 23, demanding that its “Best Companies for GLBT Equality 2007” logo be removed from Hyatt material referencing the San Diego hotel. “We do not condone his (Doug Manchester’s) participation in any efforts to write discrimination into the California state constitution,” the nation’s largest gay rights group said.
“We’re very concerned that the wrong impression is being made ... that there is a connection between the Manchester Grand Hyatt and San Diego Pride.”
DeHarte said Doug Manchester “basically has said ... he welcomes (gay) people to go eat and drink and stay at the hotel and at the same time he’s writing a check to fund the constitutional ban. We want the public to be aware of Manchester’s role in funding the constitutional amendment.”

Help save a life.... Eat out.
This game had it all. However, Chargers stun the Colts and make a date with the Pats. What a game it was. Now I don't watch much football or any sports for that matter, but the BF happened to mention to some people at dinner the other night that he would like to watch the game and was interested in having some people over. WHAT.... where did that come from ????? OK. So we are at the store yesterday and neither of us could think of what you serve at or for a 10:00 am kickoff. Bear? A little early don't you think. Well, I do not think we could have made the event any more gay even if Richard Simmons had shown up. I was not on purpose you see. We started out with some mini quiche and Bloody Mary's, after all it was 10:00 am and I was not going to make a full breakfast. We stuck with the Bloody Mary's but moved on to some mini croissant deli sandwiches. We also broke out the Roasted Deluxe Nuts. All the while there was also a big bowl of never ending Ruffles. I know , how butch right. Oh and I wore my Tomlinson jersey. And now for some football eye candy.
In a move worthy of Jerry Falwell who blamed 9/11 on "the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians", crazed anti-abortion pastor Matt Trewhella of Missionaries to the Preborn sent the following E-Mail out today to his flock:
Last week I groaned when I read how Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill into law in California which foisted homosexuality upon the children of that state through the state school system. The bill was SB777 and it clearly redefines (perverts) what sexuality is, as well as promotes the legitmacy of homosexuality upon children starting from kindergarten on up. He signed the bill on Saturday, October 13th.
I found this story over at Towleroad.
I also found this.....WOW
LOS ANGELES -- Fires raged across California for a fourth day Wednesday as officials said property worth 1 billion dollars had been lost and President George W. Bush declared the region a major disaster zone.
Around 1,700 buildings have been reduced to charred rubble in 18 fires that have erupted since Sunday, forcing an estimated 500,000 people to flee their homes and scorching 172,000 hectares (426,000 acres) of tinder-dry countryside from celebrity-studded Malibu to beyond the Mexican border.
I have been lucky enough to not really be affected by the firestorm. The air is bad and we have to keep all of the windows closed and run the air. My work is very close to the Hairrs Ranch fire and we have closed early the last few days do to a real lack of customers. My local grocery has run very low on alot of goods do to the evacuation site right down the street. We have fire to the north and fire to the south and they almost meet each other on the far east end of San Diego. I am safe in my house, with my pets, a hot plate of food and a worm bed. My heart goes out to all that have be hit with hardship and devastation. I pray they have lost no family or pet, but only things that time, family and friend can and will help replace.

For the past 24 hours I have seen dancing flames rip through entire neighborhoods. I have listened to reporters tirelessly recount the events moment by moment until they can barely speak from exhaustion. I have seen the silhouettes of bravery, those fighting the fire and putting their lives on the line for the safety of others. I have seen hundreds of thousands of people, small children, the sick and elderly, strewn throughout stadiums, school and fairgrounds. I have seen the night sky littered with bright red embers and unrelenting walls of flames.

These next pic's are that of the smoke that I can see from my house.

"Two years ago, I believed that civil unions were a fair alternative," he said at a press conference. "Those beliefs, in my case, have since changed. The concept of a 'separate but equal' institution is not something that I can support."Thanks to the SFGate.com you can get the full story.
Enjoy an evening of Padres baseball at a discounted price in the same section as fellow Pride supporters and volunteers. San Diego Pride supporters and volunteers will be recognized for organizing the group event with a scoreboard welcome and the Gay Men's Chorus of San Diego will sing the National Anthem.
We were met by protesters and protesters of the protest. That would be the pic I took of the one for my side. It was a big deal and this is the Sign On San Diego story, if you want to read it. Here is a quote from the story. "San Diego Pride is promoting the night as “Out in Petco Park” and the Gay Men's Chorus of San Diego will perform the national anthem before the game, which will be shown on ESPN.
San Diego Pride's response to the hubbub: It's people enjoying a game together, not a drag show."
