Jay Leno: I'm Sorry Gays
"Tonight Show" host Jay Leno has apologized for asking a visibly uncomfortable Ryan Phillipe for his "gayest look" during an interview last week. Homey don't play that!
In a statement to People, Leno said "In talking about Ryan's first role, I realize that what I said came out wrong,I certainly didn't mean any malice. I agree it was a dumb thing to say, and I apologize." Jay made the insensitive remark in an attempt to make light of Ryan's first acting gig as a gay teen on "One Life to Live."
Unfortunately, Leno has yet to apologize for 16 years of unfunny opening monologues.
Jay Leno Apologizes for 'Gayest Look'
On March 19, after a lengthy chat with Phillippe about his first major role on TV -- he played a gay teen on the soap "One Life to Live" -- Leno asked the actor to show him his "gayest look."
"Wow," replied Phillippe, 33. "That is so something I don't want to do. Are you just going to embarrass me tonight, or ... ?"I say, if you watch Jay......STOP

I heard about this on Howard Stern's show(yeah yeah,I know..).Howard was actually very respectful to Ryan when he was on his show not long before he was on Leno-someone he thought as as being a jerk before. Howard was pleasantly surprised to say the least.
